In 2020, Australian sports startups FAN+ and Campaignware (then called Benchvote) announced a collaboration to keep sports fans engaged online during COVID-19 and beyond. Using Campaignware, FAN+ planned competitions, quizzes and trivia based on current and past sporting events, with weekly competitions and giveaways through its own online channels.
About the partnership
FAN+ is a sporting and entertainment experience platform that connects fans with live experiences with athletes, personalities and sporting clubs. Campaignware helps sports rights holders and sponsors engage and understand their audience through digital campaigns, with analytics and data capture built in.
Both companies understood the sporting landscape and the startup ecosystem, and set out to create more ways to engage fans on their platforms.
Keeping fans engaged during the lockout
With world sport facing an unprecedented lockout, FAN+ and Campaignware stayed committed to keeping sports fans engaged, with a range of competitions, quizzes and trivia questions based on current and past sporting events, plus weekly competitions and giveaways. At the time of the announcement, the two teams were working on campaigns to launch shortly.
In their words
“We are thrilled to be working with Campaignware and engaging our fans using their innovative technology. A focus for us is to keep fans engaged and connected to sport and with Benchvote we can certainly offer this via our online channels.”
Rod Harys, Founder, FAN+
“We’re excited to work with Rod Harys and Aaron Warburton at FAN+ to grow and develop their audience through Campaignware technology. We look forward to getting FAN+’s range of incredible experiences, into the hands of more sports fans around the world.”
Adam Mussa, CEO and Founder, Campaignware
About FAN+
At the time, FAN+ described itself as the first marketplace of its kind in Australia, giving fans access to extraordinary and exclusive experiences with their sporting clubs, athletes and personalities, from a swimming lesson with an Olympian to hitting the court with a Grand Slam champion, while supporting and giving back to community and charity organisations.
Run a quiz for your club or brand
Quizzes and trivia still give fans a reason to come back between matches, and every entry adds a contact you can reach again. Build one with the trivia template, read our guide to creating an interactive quiz, or see how clubs use a fan engagement platform to grow data they own.
About Campaignware
Campaignware is an audience engagement platform. Clients use it to launch quizzes, predictors and competitions in minutes, with no code, to grow a database they own and open up new revenue.
Founded in 2018, based in Sydney, working across four markets (Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe). Thousands of campaigns and millions of audience records.
